Books arent going away, but I think the e-book readers will be more popular and will soon be part of the mainstream. Imagine lying on a beach and surf bestsellers, actually deciding to read during vacation rental instead of having to pack something we hope will be interesting. Even Oprah is a fan of the Kindle. She likes to spend his Sunday morning reading the latest issue of The New York Times, without even getting out of bed. Ebook readers are definitely the wave of the future, and the Kindle is a great start for this wave.
